Our Chance In The World – The Goodwill Equation
As of today, I think that I am just getting the ‘hang of things’. I’m 32 years old and I feel like I am 18. My theory is you never actually mature, you just continue to stack responsibility until you are forced to react with certain behavior modified. Being an entrepreneur is one thing…but being the founder of an organization like Project Social is something I never saw coming. It’s impractical and disruptive and I love how we are building an institution around creativity and ingenuity. Especially while spending very little cash.
Maybe this is something I can use relate to the next generation of online marketers and designers. My experience in the market makes for an interesting story but how do I relate this to a group of growing professionals who are armed with newer marketing technology and ideas that build our next series of interruptions.
Maybe my contribution is the ability to recruit and play host to the the battlefield in which this interaction takes place. Project Social is about the growth of community providing individualized growth in volunteer and partner collaboration. Everyone wins.
I was proud to visit with our Partners at the Columbus State University Center for Career Development during the Spring Job Fair to scout and relay our mission to many of the young professionals of the area. We netted 3 applications and that gives us a volunteer pool of 13 total. I am very proud of the amount of effort and time the current help has accrued.
Our efforts to track the exact amount of time and movement provided by our organization will be detrimental to its future and we are looking to make some big moves.
I look forward to continuing our growth in the community and to effort the mission towards our goal of $20,000 in in-kind donations (hard work!) towards our goal.
At this point we have 5 board members, 6 partners, 13 volunteers working on 5 active projects. We have a total of 7 projects at this point and once we complete them this Spring we will have almost met our goal for the 2013 year. Yup…that’s way ahead of schedule.
Thank you to all of our advocates who are currently participating in the community and helping us making a difference to the growing need of Columbus and surrounding areas to be ushered in the brave world of technology.
